I need some lights.
What do you use as lights?
I would like to use what you use as lights, if you use the lights as I would like to use them.
Are generic office lamps still the norm around here, or has anyone had success with a specific type of light for specific purposes? (say, a certain light for fill, or a good light for simulating sunlight, or something good for pinpoint lighting, etc)

Reading/office type lamps usually do the trick. Torches are also useful for pinpointing light.
I use this light for general lighting and it works great. The 24 LED pointing light in every direction and then you have an even light source. Also get some desk lamps and make sure you can adjust the brightness on them for full control over the lighting.
Does anyone know were I can get some good cheep LED lamps in the UK?

and desk lamps/lava lamp bulb things for fill.

And I would go with lamps...
the light only cost $45. puts out 1000 watts of light. its perfect!
I use 3 lights like the one mobiledeli posted, less output, out 60w, and only $20 a piece, with lamps. To get smooth.even lighting be sure to put them up at the ceiling (if white) to reflect down onto the set, or set up some reflector rigs like I do.
if you want the lighting to be flat.
try having one light pointing at your minifigs back.

I use three ordinary IKEA lamps, 12 watt power saving bulbs.
