Topic: Hello, I'm new and am wondering about making brickfilms

I have tried to make brickfilms on Windows Movie Maker but they look like they are in slow-motion. Also, my camera lighting is always weird no matter what I do. I need some tips on shooting pictures and what programs work better and are easier to use.

Don't Use WMM. Instead, assemble your films in a quality software like Sony Vegas. And to take your pictures, use something like Monkeyjam.

Welcome to BiM, enjoy your stay.
Now, you can use WMM to publish your films (Convert them to wmv), but not for editing.
There should be alot of great softwares at The Free Software List.
MonkeyJam (Which I prefer), and HeliumFrog are great frame-capturing programs. You should use these, instead of WMM. WMM only goes to around 8 FPS, which is too low IMO. Around 15 FPS is pretty much what every brickfilmer uses.
Of course, you should read alot of the posts in here. There's alot of great stuff, and also how you can get started.

I know how to get WMM up to 16 FPS.

Welcome to the site mini/smile .
As everyone has said, there are many great free programs out there, and alot of suport and advice here and on sites like youtube.
I would recommend Stop motion animator(or SMA). It is free, basic, and works great. mini/smile I've always used it, and never had any problems.

Hey, welcome to brickfilming! As others have said, visit the free software list, and check out this for all the rules of the site

Re: Hello, I'm new and am wondering about making brickfilms

Well, you might be shooting at more than 8 fps and WMM can do only about 8 1/2 fps. Try shooting at 8 fps and see how that looks. I am having difficulties finding a program because WMM freezes up and Monkeyjam just won't work! So I'm having pretty much the same problem, but I'll try Stop Motion Animator.

PS: I shoot at about 10 fps.

The odd lighting is probably due to your camera being on automatic settings. And as others have said, check out the Free Software List for better alternatives to WMM.
