No, but he got two copies of CS5 for free. Trust me on this one.

I'm back. Possibly.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

I don't "trust you on this one". You can say what you want.

In the interest of getting on topic, what are people's thoughts on these new HD cams, now that we know (apparently) they have manual controls?

I'm super excited.

I'm pretty excited as well, can't wait to see the brickfilms that these things produce.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

I think I'll just stick with my 9k for now.

These look great. I'm having a real problem with my LQCP 9000 right now, I really don't know why, but it looks blury. However these look great, and the balanced shape means they (hopefully) won't give you a slightly tilted picture like the pro 9000. mini/lol
I supose I could fix that though.

You shouldn't need a new camera because its a bit blurry. Have you cleaned the lens with lens cleaner and are you focusing properly? Those would be the most likely causes for your problem.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

Wow, it really looks amazing, but I really am quite happy with my 9K. I'll see how other people react to it, the quality, how good it is etc. before I go and buy it.

I really have tried everything. I've cleaned the lens, re-installed it, focused it, everything. I think it's probabally the lighting, which I will try to fix.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

A new camera will not fix bad lighting.

FYI I've spoken to Tim from Engadget again who said the following:

I stand corrected. Didn't delve deep enough into the advanced settings. Won't be doing full review for a few weeks.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

I would avoid High Mega-pixelage cameras, especially when brick-filming. Ten mega pixels will drasticlly reduce quality in the Image, so avoid anything over six with the exception of the 9000.

PS IT"S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's likely my parents won't buy it for me, since I already have the 9000.

After a five year hiatus, I have returned

Actually, he's sorta right, and the 7D doesn't shoot 18.1 MP video. It "video mode" shoots in 1080p. mini/wink

I'm fairly positive that a higher mega-pixel gives a better picture quality. mini/tongue  Which is why DSLRs have amazing picture quality compaired to the slightly lower quality of point and shoot cameras.

EDIT: BTW, most point and shoot cameras are over 10 mega-pixels usually around 12 or so, some up to 14 mega-pixels.

Absolutely. Sure it seems like overkill now, but when everything catches up, having 1080p will be great.

Also, downconverting from 1080p to SD will still look better than recording in SD to begin with.

Re: Logitech's new HD Webcams

Im fine with sticking to 720p for now.
