Topic: should I get a new editor???

OK I have been using Windows Movie Maker 2.6 ever since I started stop motion a year and a half ago, I have 460+ subs now, and I started using Monkeyjam again. Is there any good FREE editing programs to use? Because I am not a jerk who steals programs. I am on a tight budget and I want to make my films as best as possible, I got a new camera and I think I can get better supplies. I hope you guys can help me!

Re: should I get a new editor???

I'm not saying that people are jerks for getting programs for free I just want something free just to be clear

Re: should I get a new editor???

yes, I think a new editor would be a good investment. If you have money, try investing in something like Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Then you can focus on effects as well. Good Luck, and hope this helps. mini/wink

It does, but vegas is pretty pricey, I am trying to find something free. Hopefully.

Re: should I get a new editor???

^ If you've got 90$, you can get Cyberlink Power Director 9, it's a VERY good program and I was surprised at how great it is.

Re: should I get a new editor???

Vegas isn't that pricey, if you think about how much all the other editors cost. You can pick up the normal version for about £40, the platinum for £55 or the pro which is around £90. The last two may set you back a little bit, but you could try to earn some money out and about?

^ That sounds illegal to me... You don't just get $1000 software for free by knowing a code.

With all due respect Noodle, I don't want you here. - Ratboy Productions

Re: should I get a new editor???

Um, sony vegas isn't that pricey...You can download a fully-functional trial that works for 30days, and you can use that trial to buy it for like, $50-60 US. I paid $65 AUS and it's pretty good. I suggest that you at least try the trial.

$65aus? I got ripped.
A few years ago I bought the normal version and that set me back $145aus.
Maybe the price has gone down since then?

If you want a free editing program I recommend something called "Wax". Its free and much better than WMM. It has green screen to mini/smile

It also has other plugins like quick 3d (move stuff around), particle effects, etc. I think you can also download more plugins for it?
