Dog, no offense, but from what I've seen by you; VFX does not seem like your area of expertise. Or at least I haven't seen you showing how much you know about it.
I didn't mean I can do it well; I meant I can see when it is done well. For example, I can recognise most after effects filters, what program something was made with, etc. etc.

A decent skills set in VFX definitely wouldn't go astray.

No, that isn't, but rigs and stuff which are then masked and so on are VFX.
