I usually use the 4, though I'll be using the unmentioned 5 frame in my next film.

Not all my lego legs like the 6 frame walk, it's really hard to have them in the middle of the walk without falling over. I use the six a lot, but I probably should try out some more walk cycles.
I use 8 frames because I think it looks pretty good.
I ... don't know. Let me watch one of my films and get back to you.:P
I usually use the 4 when the minifig is outside, and the 6 when he's inside.
I tried out the 6 frame walk a few minutes ago and it looks a little better than the 4 frame. Maybe I'll try out the 8 frame later

I use the 'awkward' 5 frame. it works perfectly.
i use six i think, and it looks freakin amazing to the tenth power.
I use a 3 walk cycle
Never heard of 8 frame. What is it? Like, 4 in between steps?!
you can see my 5 frame walk here > http://www.vimeo.com/2775711re
I always animate at 4. Probably because I'm too lazy too animate more than 4 frames a step .
I alternate between 6 and 4 depending on whether I'm feeling lazy or not.
Same here.
