Topic: Avatar problem
When I try to upload an avatar, which by the way is a .gif, it says that I cannot use the format that I have, and that only gifs, jpegs, and pngs are allowed.

Could you supply a link, maybe? The file may be a gif, but it's possible that it's URL does not end with .gif.
I'm pretty sure that .gif's as avatars are no longer allowed unless you uploaded it pretty early on (like Bert).
We decided to remove them entirely because people who knew how to make animated gifs usually couldn't handle the power. This is a better solution than having people whine about what a spoilsport I or one of the other moderators is when somebody doesn't like their avatar being removed.
As far as filesize, you might try software that has good image compression capabilities, it's really pretty easy to get a file down to 4-5 kilobytes without a noticeable difference.
Um... I'm having a problem too.
Every time i upload a new avatar it looks just like my old one. I deleted my old pic then I uploaded a picture of a sword. But it comes out as my old avatar.
Don't worry Bloo, it'll show for everyone else, it's only not showing it on your profile. It happened to me once.

That problem has just started on me.
EDIT: Yeah, it's just the browser.

Ctrl-F5 I believe forces the reload and should work.
