Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

It kinda looks like those are body parts that have been discarded after he ate the guy....

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

You don't feel the little legs are escaping to the bright freedom beyond?  Or the hero reaches back for his lucky hat after the escape?

I can see how it may appear to be random body parts though.  In the first one I felt if I had the guy out too far it would appear that he would not have enough time to escape, but I supose with such a small exit (the narrowest opening I could acheive and still pass a full minifig through it) it may appear as though they are just laying about.  In the second one I thought I had the arm close enough to the edge to appear coming out of the whole, but maybe not.

Go Forth & Create!

Cool guys don't look at explosions
they walk away in slow motion

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I like it, but the green reflection is a bit much.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Greenscreening with Legos is extremely hard though. All the shiny sparkly plastic and round edges refract light like crazy.

Yeah, in my opinion this is my best green screening job yet! I've never gotten less green on the edges before. mini/bigsmile

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I never usually join these, but today was an exception. I was feeling inspired by watching Jurassic Park. Here's what I came up with. By the way, it may seem like I am copying PJ_Pund's first entry, but, I actually started building my idea and sets before I saw his entry.

1st Angle:

2nd Angle:

BY THE WAY! I know this is an odd request filmyguy, but, may I have the raw file to green screen? I'm trying to make a formula for the perfect green screen. I won't use it anywhere, nor will I post it or anything, I just need a picture to green screen, lol.

Anyways, thanks, it doesn't matter if you do or don't. So, don't worry if you don't want to, it may seem weird, anyways xD

Alrighty, I don't mind showing people. In fact I think I probably should show people!

I think it's the most solid green I've gotten.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Nice TG-Tom, but it's a little similer to Filmyguys entry.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Apart from the explosion, I dont't see any similar thing. We just both like action movies mini/tongue

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The minifig needs a better pose. His arms would either be up by his face or trailing behind him.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The minifigure looks quite unrealistic due to CGI (which I'm assuming it is) and the sky's a little dull looking. I think the pose isn't that bad though. The rest is fine.

The others are really nice. I'm considering having a go. Not qquite certain of that though mini/tongue .

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The Results

#1: MOL Angle 1
The lighting was great and the angle was perfect.

#2: Filmyguy
Very good chroma-keying, but wasn't very original.

#3: PJ_Pund Entry 1
Good use of the Sepia tone, but the way you place the minifig who was escaping wasn't very good.

The Rest:

#4: TG-Tom
It was OK, but the minifig looked like he was jogging away from the explotion more than he was taking a leap of faith.

Congrats to you MOL, choose the next theme. And to everyone else, you guys were awesome but MOL was just that little bit more awesome. mini/XD

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Woah, woah, woah. I beat Filmyguy? mini/bigsmile

Anyways, I should have a theme up soon.

EDIT: Hmm...This is actually quite hard, but, I've come up with a seasonal one. If no one likes it, I'll change it, as I have a back up one.

The theme (so far) is: St. Patrick's Day!
