Topic: Best Free Capture Program

Ok, I've tried many different free image capture programs over the years, and each one has their own ups and downs. Right now, I use MonkeyJam, because I think it is easy to use, and gives you the option to change all sorts of settings for your camera when in the capture window. What do you guys think is the best free image capture program and why?

Re: Best Free Capture Program

Well I wouldn't know, because I don't have it, but I would have to say SMP. Because it made Wallace and Grommit, and seems proffesional.

Re: Best Free Capture Program

Helium Frog is good because it has onion skinning, which is very helpful when animating.
It just seems to crash sometimes...

Re: Best Free Capture Program

I have Stop Motion Pro 6, it's pretty awesome. I wish I could upgrade to 7, but it costs money to upgrade though.

MonkeyJam: Lags my computer like hell. And the devil runs Vista. Plus has too many useless features that I don't give a crap about.
Helium Frog: Meh. Pretty neat but always crashes.
Stop Motion Animator/Anasazi Animator: Simple. Extremely terse in terms of software. No extra nicknacks or whatzits. Just capture, playback and onionskinning. Both are basically the same. Its really a personal preference: do you prefer blue or purple?
Windows Movie Maker: ARE YOU HIGH?
