so im looking to buy some software and i was wondering which i should get. So um how is Adobe After Effects, is this good for stop motion?
K also would Adobe After Effects work for the flying images as well? Like how people use Gimp or do i need that to?
Hey also another question how bad is it not to use a webcam cus i have a nice camera?

download the free trial before you buy. After effects is a motion graphics and compositing program, it has nothing to do with stop motion but it can chroma key, colour grade and create awesome title sequences.
k ya i was planning on looking into the trial during spring break lol
I dunno about After Effects for stop motion. It's great for effects and titles etc. but I think you can only do stop motion frame by frame. And that would take a LONG time
After Effects wouldn't work for frame capture, if that's what you're asking. Or editing. It's purely for motion graphics and effects. And I wouldn't buy it unless you're absolutely sure you're going to be making films for a while, because it's expensive.
Ok, um what kinda program do I wanna look into getting then?
Ok, I should probably change how i do this but I usually take the pictures when the camera isn't connected to my pc and then load em to the pc and make a film and edit them then. So what I'm looking for exactly is something to give me cool laser effects and light saber effects and sound effects and with like all the onion skin stuff and now I think I'm learning those are 2 different pieces of software.
So for all the effects is Adobe After Effects what i want?
Then what type of editing program do I want? Is there an Adobe form of this? Like if i got the Master Package?
Um does anybody sorta understand what I'm trying to say lol?

I only have SOME people (mostly friends) that I work for.
I suggest downloading the trial of FXHome visionlab and find out if you like it

Ok, I didn't wanna start a new thing so I was wondering how these programs are and if they all work together nicely. From what I've done I think they should but we'll see lol. OK
A webcam: Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
Frame grabber program: Stop Motion Pro
Effects program: FXHome Effectslab Pro
So are these good programs?

The camera is nice but unfortunately it has auto focus, which is bad.
What I saw on a tutorial with stop motion pro is u can turn off auto focus on that camera and do it manually
