Topic: Balanced Fighting?

I've been searching films with good fight sequences, but I still don't really know what a awesome fight really has involved? SO if you could post your feedback uses scale 1-10 on how much each item should be used i'd be grateful.

1. plain old fist fights.
2. special moves
3. fighting with objects
4. lighting varying
5. camera movement
6. explosions
7. slow mode
8. unexpected actions(picking up gun out of no where and shooting, car blowing through the fight, etc)
9. smashing non-combatant objects
10. death

your feedback will be greatly appreiciated. THX

Re: Balanced Fighting?

Generally, camera movements and special moves (ex. flipping off a wall) tend to make a good fight. ZachMG has a good one that you can learn from, although the camera movements are extremely advanced. mini/eek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M_03lnV-1g

Re: Balanced Fighting?

Those camera movments dont seems all that advanced, probably the most advanced one is where the camera is orbiting around the minifig, but that wouldnt be very hard with a webcam, or a digital camera with the minifig mounted on a turn table.

Re: Balanced Fighting?

You don't think the one where the camera quickly follows the knife and then the dead guy, all in a matter of seconds, is advanced?

Re: Balanced Fighting?

A fight scene needs all of them except for #10, but if I have to choose one i'll say #8.

Re: Balanced Fighting?

Well it depends on the fight scene you are trying to achieve. If it's a dramatic scene, you would possibly want #1,3,7, and to top it all off; a dramatic #10(death)

Just like the cherry on top of every ice cream cone. Or sunday, whatever fits your fancy.

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

This is probably one of the best fights I've seen. Grace had some epic fights in it too, but some of the movements (falling, etc.) were exaggerated a little bit too much

Re: Balanced Fighting?

Another epic fight is one by eanimation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE-YczrTztM Almost everything from the list you gave is included.

Re: Balanced Fighting?

wow this is a good idea...ok so um....you should have camrera movements (if you can), fighting with objects but still with there hands alittle, and um.... maybe some explostions. example: a guy has an ax and he throws it and the guy dodges it and then the ax hits a...weird thing that could blow up , on the wall and it blows up and yay so thats what i think you should do.
