Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

looks cluttered and poorly lit.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I agree it is cluttered, but it is the reason the subject is trapped.  I tried to keep it simple yet convey a sudden change in events.  Too dark for you?

I like how you used the pants so the pockets are in the back.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Make your last second entries guys. I'm judging today at 10:00 tonight CST.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Ahhhhhhh... wait for me, my entry's nearly done.

EDIT: Here it is, the fence isn't too clear, but I'm happy enough with it

Why do you have to quote say that again? I think one person is enough.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

1: filmyguy: When I first saw the frame I had a pretty good idea that you were going to win. It's an awesome frame. Great job.

2: Real Brick (Entry #1) I liked the interpretation and the angle but I would have put the mouse closer to the camera and put the traps more in focus. It was a good job though. (I also liked your second entry BTW.)

3: Darkman: I like the angle but the black and white high contrast thing is beginning to get old. He was also smiling. mini/wink

The rest of you:

CheeseyBricks: I didn't really like how the hands looked pasted on to the photo. Try darkening the hands and lightening the background. The shot was good though (but it was kinda like filmyguy's).

Kinzcove: The lighting is what bugged me a little. You've got a little much light coming from were your camera is.

PJ_pund: The shot overall was sorta boring and cluttered. It wasn't terrible though, and definitely an improvement from your others.

Splash Studios: The camera reflecting off the glass sorta ruins the shot and nothing was really in focus. I you could have gotten rid of the reflection, put the guy in focus it would have been a lot beeter. mini/smile

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Aaawesome. I'll think of something...

THOUGHT OF THE THEME. (that was pretty fast)

Theme: Mystery

I'm reading a lot of Sherlock Holmes. mini/wink
Have fun!

Crime scene... why not mystery if your reading Holmes?

You're quite right.

Anybody mind if I change it?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I sort of do

Your frame still fits the theme though. Looking at it, "The Crime Scene" theme could be a little restricting.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Ok, Filmyguy, go ahead and change it to mystery, my frame still fits 'Mystery'

I can see why you say this, but before posting my frame, I hadn't seen Filmyguy's entry, anyway apart from the angle and the hands (something I planned to do as soon as I heard the theme), the shot is different in many ways. I hate it when people make assumptions like this, and judge it for it's similarity to another frame, immediately shouting "COPYCAT", rather than judging it for it's individual merits. I'm pretty disappointed with fourth but hey, it's up to the judge.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I didn't judge it because it was like filmyguys frame. I merely mentioned that it was similar. It wasn't that it was a bad shot either, it was that the fence was hard to see and the hands didn't quite match the lighting.

Is anyone else going to enter?
