Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Spudster, no Im not trying to make it look better, the shot is what it is.  I am just trying to convey that my shot has different cinematic quailities more similar to a music video or an inde film as opposed to some clean main stream disney theme.  To each their own and I see where you are coming from.  Next week I am staying away from the busy theme entirely, unless busy and choatic is the theme.

I don't think we get juged until Tuesday because that is when this challange tecnically started.

Veerry simple.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

It's kinda plain, and there's nothing in the background.

And...now we wait.

It's actually really good. and there DOESN'T need to be something in the background to be good mini/confused
I just wonder if people actually can animate the shot they present

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

First!

Realbrick (3): Awesome! you can really sense the momentum

Second!

A. (1): I'm in love with that Aura effect! How did you make it?

Tied for Third!

Filmyguy: Same as Darkman, the shot is good looking, but it didn't catch the theme right on.

Darkman: You could've done better with this one. The black contrast makes it feel more cold, than with energy.

The rest of you!

Buildersbrick: The effect is done kind of poorly, but the idea is alright.

Ark11: SABERDICK

Realbrick (1 & 2): Nothing too eye popping. The windmill one is framed really badly, but the other one is OK.

Greenscreener: A nice little joke frame; the angle isn't bad.

Duke Boy: It's just a square picture of a lego guy with poor lighting.

PJ_pund: Could really use some work. Listen to Spudster, he knows what he's talking about.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Horray! I will think of a theme in about an hour.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Bummer...
Yeah I know you guys don't like my style too much so I am changing a bit for these challenges.  I understand what spudster is saying but I feel most of his criticism is stuff I was intentionally trying to do.  I won't change the camera I use 'cause it is a cool digitalblue lego camera but I can create a less cluttered shot.  We have different approaches to beauty.  I suppose I can position the figures differently but when I think of an energetic stage setting I don't picture people perfectly posing or having props perfectly placed.  The shot is of a stage that has been thrashed by a bunch of angry young minstrels.

No offense taken here though and I appreciate everyones openness and I am eagerly awating the next challenge.  I hope to please others with my next entry but you are not the first people to not understand my art (yes even if it appears sloppy to you it is still art), I do abstract acrylic paintings and I sure get a lot of yeah a preschooler could do that when in reality it what looks like slop on a canvas is pain staking effort of playing with color and texture.

Intentionally creating something that is not of high quality does not negate the lack of quality.
Every piece of art is created for an audience. Ultimately, you do not determine the value of your art. Those who view and interact with it do.
