Oh Wow, Holly...

Okay, That is weird.

Real Brick, you had a title on your shot.  Im tying to do something creative not just sticking one a guy on one prop, giving it a catchy title, and calling it a day.

Jimmy Bob, I guess I don't know what you mean.  You want a shot that conveys/installs a lot of energy?  You want some diagram for a perpetual motion machine?  You want the viewer to be inspired to be energetic?  Are you talking about spirit energy?  Is A.'s tripyy submissions what you are looking for?

I was going for the energy felt/created in a room full a music, musicians, and mayham, not just people being energetic.

Your idea wasn't bad, but I have to admit the shot isn't that great. I can see how it portrays energy, but there is really no cinematography at all.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Spudster, are you talking about us or PJ_pund?

Well he quoted PJ, which means he's talking about him.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Well, from a glance, Builderbrothers shot from the same angle.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Oh shnap BuilderBrothers, that's awesome.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Spudster, what do you mean by no cinematography?  The shots were too busy?  I know my shots were not the best but I want to know how to improve as well.  I felt I came up with creative way to angle the camera on the first one.  Kinda as if the camera had fallen over during the stage trashing.  The lighting isn't that great on either of them, I know.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

You don't get what cinematography is, do you?

Persist.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Well, if you want an honest answer, the shot is very cluttered, the quality is terrible, the set is sloppy, and the camera angle is rather dull.

Not trying to be mean, just answering your question. mini/smile

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Spudster, I appreciate your honesty.  Yes the shot is intended to be cluttered to convey enrgery, the qualitiy of the camera is the camera I use (kind of like listening to vynal records), the set is dingy not sloppy (sloppy implies little thought and their was plenty of thought that went into this little hole in the wall bar set), the camera angle on the second shot is dull yes (but I tried to throw in more crowd acion) but come on the first shot has a decent creative angle to it.

MOL, yes I know cinematography is the art of motion pictures, what I was asking for clarification on was Spudsters definition of cinematography.  Though maybe my interpretation is wrong but I take these chalanges to be creating a one shot scene from a potential movie.

Builder Bros! Your entry made me rofl

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Nice job builderbrothers! Best entry you guys have made so far! mini/smile @Realbrick: I really like the angle and the blur but what does it have to do with energy? mini/confused

Well man, it looks like what it looks like, you can't really make it look any better by explaining yourself.
