I cropped it so you couldn't see the edge of the baseplate I used.

But these frames are meant to look like they could have been taken out of a full movie - not like they've been made for a cinematography challenge.

I don't think the aspect ration really matters

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

So now we have to ration off aspects?

I think Darkman's one looks really nice, you just love that minifigure.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Yes, it's very nice. I just don't see how the theme fits in there.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I try'd create a energetic feeling frame and not just do flashy lights.

I, um, don't see the 'energy' in the frame, but I see your point.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

PJ_pund, how is that energy?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Ever been to a live concert?  Well, maybe not some Barry Manilow crap, but a good hard grunge band at some whole in the wall dive.  The musicians are jacked up, the crowd is moshing, instruments are being mishandled, ear drums are ringing, smoke and sweat so thick your eyes tear up...

None of my earlier ideas were working out as well as I would have liked visually and while watching Kurt, Krist, & Dave literally tear up some stage in an old Nirvana video I was inspired to do this.

Once again, the explainer.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I'll give you guys a hint

think about like how you can create energy through  cinematography. Don't make a picture of energy, make energy

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

How are lightsabers (my entry) not energy!?!??!!??!?!?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Real Brick, you had a title on your shot.  Im tying to do something creative not just sticking one a guy on one prop, giving it a catchy title, and calling it a day.

Jimmy Bob, I guess I don't know what you mean.  You want a shot that conveys/installs a lot of energy?  You want some diagram for a perpetual motion machine?  You want the viewer to be inspired to be energetic?  Are you talking about spirit energy?  Is A.'s tripyy submissions what you are looking for?

I was going for the energy felt/created in a room full a music, musicians, and mayham, not just people being energetic.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The lightsabers are full of energy, yes, but that's what your doing wrong. You need to create a frame that makes you feel energy. I'm trying to stay away from the word 'energetic' because that's not quite the same thing.
