Topic: Detective type film

I'm probable going to make a detective type film i need help deciding what to have but first here is some of the story or at least random bits

one of the top leading detectives gets murdered and it's up to his partner to solve the case but the murderer was almost like a detective and the results lead to the dead detectives partner and later they try to chase him down and that's all i have
and here are a few questions i like you to answer

1st should it be black and white or in color?
2nd should it be set in present of 1960's?
3rd and last should it be series?

Re: Detective type film

I think it should be in color but in the 1960s and no just one movie could be better or just two chapters do not make it to long

Re: Detective type film

1st, I suppose color. 2nd, 1960s, maybe earlier for a better feel. 3rd, I don't think it should be a series.

And Dog, just because it's a detective film doesn't mean it's automatically a ripoff of Smeagol's film. mini/confused

Re: Detective type film

In fact, apart from the fact that he's a detective, it's got nothing else in common with the movie.
Oh, and black and white, and set in the 60's sounds awesome. And definitely do a series.
Story wise, that actually a really cool idea.

Don't make me regret that even more then I already do.

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

Really? Other than being in the detective genre, this is nothing like Unrenewable. That's like saying Sssss. ripped off Gears Of Solace for being a comedy.

Re: Detective type film

Depends on the story. If you're going with a grittier film a la The French Connection, then go with color and the present (or the 70s or 80s...) If you want a tongue-in-cheek cliche-filled piece a la Double Indemnity, go with 60s and black and white. And I'd definitely go with something more original than "detective gets killed."

Re: Detective type film

1st, I think it could be in B&W and you add some tone to it or do the sin city effect.

No one can do better than Smeagol's Unrenewable...

Re: Detective type film

Smeagol made an Unrenewable that was really good but just give him the chance of doing his own

Re: Detective type film

I don't see why people keep comparing this to Unrenewable. Is the detective genre untouchable now?

Re: Detective type film

Apparently, though I very much disagree. Now I bet if you made a film that took place in the future, everyone would clobber you because of Unrenewable and Picturesque.

Re: Detective type film

Make it in colour, make it as a series. Do your [own] film. Good luck!

why do you think so? also, what does this has to do with Unrenewable?
btw, back on topic: I prefer B/W. I'd like to see something original.
