Topic: Best Digital Camera for stopmotion in the price range of the low 100's

I am looking to buy a digital camera for stop-motions (maybe the Nikon Coolpix L20) but first I really don't know what digital (not webcam) Camera would be best for the money I have.

PS, I have made stop-motions with my dad's horrible low quality webcam:(  and I really would love to get a digital camera for stop-motions.:D

By the way is the Nikon CoolPix L20 any good I have heard its crap but then I've heard it's beast? mini/confused

Not all webcams are horrible quality, the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 is a very good choice for brickfilming.

Never Mind I found this beast 100 dollar olympus camera with 12 mega pixel, 5x opitcal zoom, and the problem is that I don't know if it has manual focus...
...I have already researched the amazing logitech quickcam but I want something more portable ..

still any suggestions..

I might get the olympus camera.

If you're only willing to fork out up to $100, you should get the Quickcam. If you want something you can take photos with in the real world as well, you'll have to spend a lot more. Look here and here to see the cameras that work with SMP - I'm guessing they'll also work with Helium Frog and other animation programs but I'm not sure.

The Canon Powershot A520
Ok, its not the newest Cam, but you can remote the cam via computer.
And there is free software to capture via remote (CSMC)
