Yes, people should only talk like that if they're Leonidas. And you, GGSStudios, are no Leonidas.

Re: Anyone interested in helping me out? (University Research Project)

Yet another double-post. Sorry.

I've just finished preparing the first artefact for testing (cutting it a little fine, I know). For those who would are interested in taking part and would like to roam around a couple of 3D villages (and possibly doodle on some of my renders), you can do so at the following page:

http://studiousdragon.wordpress.com/res … t-layouts/

Since I have moderation turned on for comments anyway, I've turned off the name and email requirement (however do put your username in the comment so I can keep track of everyone). While I would like responses by tomorrow as I'm preparing to present it on Monday, don't feel you have to respond immediately. Play around in them a bit, try not to go through a wall (no collision detection), then look at the questions. I'm very curious to see how accurate my theory is.

I should note that these are Shockwave files and they require the latest Shockwave Player (Director 11.5 has no backwards compatibility option for reasons I don't understand). Fortunately, installing Shockwave is a damn sight easier and less annoying than installing Flash (it won't close your browser or restart it, for one thing), and thanks to Adobe's track record of having to fix security bugs it's a good idea to update anyway.

Btw, I don't know if they work on Linux. Could any Linux users tell me if they do?

I'll be linking to this in the chat and sending emails/PMs to those who've already volunteered - unless I see you in the chat of course, in which case I'll end up repeating myself.

Okay, triple-post (first time for everything).

I've completed my second artefact, which is built using the Unity game engine (which is free, if you're interested in checking it out). This time, you're given a task to complete. Full instructions are at the following page.

Apologies to Linux users, but short of making you download the Unity webplayer I can't provide a version for you to play.

And can I remind you all that I need reasons for your answers? Thanks.

Responded on the WordPress page. The game is surprisingly fun! I even got my dad to help.

I'm back. Possibly.

Re: Anyone interested in helping me out? (University Research Project)

I've now finished my third artefact. I've now moved on from navigation and am looking at the visual appearance of an environment.

Basically, I've created an ancient "temple" and now I want you guys to tell me how it should look, because at the moment it doesn't look anything like what I want the final outcome to be. For those of you who like designing locations, this is the one to take part in. The three things I really need from you answers though are Why, Where and How.
