I'll admit, my expectations for this movie weren't super high. But after watching it the first time, I have to say, WOW. This is Shane Acker's first big screen film and once again, WOW. Although I didn't quite get the ending, the fantastic visuals, animation, voice acting, and a plot nowhere near as confusing as a lot of people say, in fact, it was a strong one.
An enjoyable film, but not super fantastic. 7/10.

It's really a shame movies like this get seen by so few people, this is really an astounding, poignant, and compelling science fiction film. Sam Rockwell gives an astonishing performance.

Pan's Labyrinth
For me, this didn't really live up to the hype. I still think it deserves the awards it got, the art direction and make-up were amazing but I just don't think the movie was that great, I thought it would be a lot more interesting. Loved every minute of the Faun creature though, he drew me in each time.

Star Trek XI
I decided to watch it again since when it first came out, I was like 'OMG THIS IS AWESOME', and I was claiming this was better than 'Avatar' by miles when it came out about March last year - which is a long time. So I decided to see why I thought this movie was so awesome.
It still is awesome.
I try to nitpick - but I can only find one. And thats when Spock meets New Spock (who I actually liked - despite beleiving that no-one can possibly top Nimroy). New Spock asks Spock who he is, and Spock wont say. Why? Because apparently it will cause a paradox that will end the universe.
AND BLOWING UP VULCAN IS NOT A PARADOX!?!
I suppose you could argue that its not a paradox - its a parralel timeline or something like that, whilst a person meeting themself is different. But....why is it that they are there face to face, and yet the fate of the universe rests on Spock saying "I'm you"? Why is it that they can both talk to each-over, but its ' the power of words' which stops the universe from imploding? Science isnt about words. The fact that Star Trek attempts to be as scientifically accurate as possible by even daring to mention the word 'paradox' in a movie which pretty much gives the old Star Trek series the middle finger, but then it all rests on Spock saying one sentence? I dont get it, no matter how much I repeat the situation. Surely the mere fact they are standing together would cause a paradox? Or even the fact THEY BLEW UP F**KING VULCAN would cause the universe to implode!?
I dont mind at all Vulcan blowing up. I know some people dont like it - but I dont mind an alternate Trek universe (I'm not even that fond of the old Star Trek movies) but why would they bother mentioning Paradoxes after all that? Surely this proves that paradoxes dont happen in the Trek universe? Without Vulcan, Spock wont get ressurected in Star Trek 3? And Spock will be much more driven by his emotions, meaning he might make different choices during the original series? Either these are alternate realities...or Paradoxes, depending on which one you beleive in.
But I dont get why both are used in the same movie. There cannot be alternate realities AND time Paradoxes, there can only be one. SO WHY ARE BOTH USED IN THIS MOVIE? If it was an alternate reality, then there is nothing stopping Spock from telling New Spock who he is. But if there were Paradoxes, the world would screwed up when Vulcan was destroyed!
IT MAKES NO SENSE!!
You probally think after all that, that I hate this movie. Unlike Avatar, who's stupidity, plotholes, and expensive, pointless CGI that could have simply been dontated to charities instead of this multi-billion Pocahontas made me HATE it (despite it being OK to watch), this remains a throughly entertaining movie. The only plothole is easy to overlook unless your a scientist or a film critic, and doesnt ruin the movie (compared to Avatar, who's SUBTLE] enviromental message just made me want to nail James Cameron to a cross)
Definitely the best movie of the year.

I'm trying out traditional animation, so I decided to watch a few TA films.
The Emperor's New Groove
I like it better now that I've watched it twice. I noticed some stuff I never noticed before. I admire the way they made the animation so squashy-cartoon-atastic. I also loved the voice acting. Emperor Kuzco's voice was my favorite. I laughed out loud at pretty much every line he said. This film was splend-tast-a-por-istic.
Peter Pan (Traditional Animation Disney version.)
Amazing. This film is pretty great for a film made in the years it was. (I believe they made it right before World War II?)
My favorite character was the crocodile.

The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers
A very compelling and powerful story. There was also a Q&A with Dr. Ellsberg and the director at the screening after the movie, so getting to listen to them talk was also pretty cool.
Alien vs. Hunter
Hands down the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.
