Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Yah, we are not too good at keying right now, but we are getting better.  The main focus of the shot is supposed to be the story behind it.

Why is his arm popping out like that?

I kinda wanted it to look like a synthetic arm

@Builderbrothers: Nice, only the yellow light on it is quite obvious, and the eyes look kinda painty

"Disturbing" implies the emotion takes effect on the viewer as a result of the frame, where "disturbed" implies someone inside the frame itself is disturbed by something.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I guess my frame is both

Impressive lightning, but what is " disturbed " ? mini/smile

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The man has been "disturbed" from his sleep by the sunrise, though looking at it now, it looks like a sunset.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Or perhaps he has something on his mind.

Or he may be in Quarantine! For the Black Death! mini/smile

Persist.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Nuclear explosions in the night. That would disturb me, too.

Here's mine. The composting wasn't very good though.

It's also a very low quality image since I lost the original. mini/sad

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

oooh, I like the lighting! Nicely done.

Nice composition. I'm not sure what is sticking out of his chest that would cause the guy to be disturbed rather than plain ol' freaked out.

...Sorry mum.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh when that post is compounded with your signature.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

A disturbed strung out "cutter" musician laying around on the sofa in his whitie-tighties amongst his filth at 3:14 AM.  It say's "Love" on his chest.  I know the subject is suppose to be disturbed, and I feel he is, I just can't get over the whitie-tighties.  Their is something funny yet disturbing to me about the whitie-tighties.  I wanted to give the effect of some late night traffic on the street in front, hence the bright light in the windows towards the top.  Also I shot this with a painted red bulb shining from the top left.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Are you saying my subject is not disturbed!?  I am aware of the difference between disturbed and disturbing, plus I read through the last couple of pages of this post (of course the intro).  One of the definitions for disturbed is one who is afflicted by mental illness.  Many symptoms of an individual with, or who is disturbed by, a mental illness are portrayed here; loss of intrest in house hold chores and cleanliness, up at irradic hours, cutting one's self, allienation.  Just because you find the image disturbing doesn't mean the subject isn't disturbed.  I know this is my first submission, and maybe I'm just tired, but I thought I came up with a good quick shot of and individual who is disturbed.  I guess we each have our own oppinions though and I would like to ask you for more clarification as to why you felt my subject is not disturbed.

I read it, I just find it to mean you have little confidence in your work when you actually explain it.
