Well, what helped me a lot when I made the change from Sony Vegas to AE, is, just to search basic tutorials, and get used to the controls. Shoot some shots, and try to edit them to make them look better.

There are a lot of great ways to get started on all those programs. If you want to get seriously into Photo/Video editing, I'd subscribe to "Lynda.com"

They have great tutorials for a low price a month.

Instead of using Monkey Jam.  You can go into Premiere and open "file" then click on "Get Media From" then select "Webcam or Wdm device"

and this opens up a window and on the top right hand side you can either select "Full Motion" or "Stop Motion". obviously click stop motion. then hit "Grab Frame" to get the frame.

it automatically makes it into 12 fps.

Then hit the "X" on the top and then it says "do you want to save as a movie fil?" hit yes , save it then it shows up on the right side of the screen.

then ur done.

Also the double arrow thing next to the "X"lets you set up your preferences.

U probably dont need all these steps but just in case.

But is it really any better than MonkeyJam? Because if all it does is render the video and compiles the pics like MJ, what advantage does it have over it?

Hang on. MWProductions, what version of Premier have you got? I tried that, on CS3: there was no menu "Get Media From" but "capture" and this did not work with my G9. Any help?
