You can make snow and relativley realistic blizzards using Squirl Water Reflections (see free software list). We used it on "Twas The Night Before Christmas."
If you happen to have a smoke machine about the place, you could use it to create a blizzard effect like the one in Sam and Stinky Have a Christmas Adventure.
Chances are you don't, but I hear that you can do snow in Sqirlz...

It just says: water and water reflection effects.
And what I meant by that was: How could ark11 know Sqirlz does snow effect when it wasn't written in freeware list description and then you (Hazzat) can tell: Sqirlz is on the list.
