Topic: Brick Organization

I was working on a film the other day, and while building the set, I had extreme difficulty finding pieces I wanted. My legos are crammed into several plastic containers, and are not organized whatsoever. Does anyone have a better organization method? I once tried sorting my legos by color, but I found distinguishing pieces of the same color also tedious.

It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Re: Brick Organization

Go by color, and then by general shape.
Try getting one or two of these (depending on your LEGO supply)

They're what I use, and are really helpful.

Re: Brick Organization

I spent a whole Sunday working in my room sorting my big box of LEGO into different colours (as well as other sections of related pieces such as minifigs, decorations, accessories, animals) and - while it was very tedious - I'm glad I did.

Re: Brick Organization

mini/tongue  WTF, I guess I didn't read the dimensions, I have something VERY similar to that, only it's much, much bigger.

Re: Brick Organization

I separated all my mini-figures in a cheap plastic drawer set from a dollar store. I went my: Heads and headgear, bodies and arms/hands, and legs. Thats all I organize. I really should organize them by color though. I also keep those small pieces like weapons, plants, animals, etc. Those little pieces that can get lost. Also, keep the figures your working with in some container to avoid loosing them.
