Topic: Fireplace Light

How can I make a glow of a fire place to make it look more realistic? Like the way a fire gives off a light sorta. Thanks!

Re: Fireplace Light

I made a set with a fireplace once that had the fireplace open at the back. I filled the gap with trans-orange fire pieces.

This would let me shine the lamp through the back. Moving it a tiny bit between frames would make it flicker.

And I used these little clips to hold the fire pieces upright.

Re: Fireplace Light

There is also a Light brick. But Hazzat's way is cheaper ( I mean money-wize).

Re: Fireplace Light

Oh wow, never thought of that. And I was thinking of michealmovies' idea. Ok I'll try it!

Re: Fireplace Light

You can make embers "glow" with a blacklight too.

Re: Fireplace Light

Dargor, whats with you and bumping things?

Take aluminum foil and wrinkle it up, then unwrinkle. Then shine an orange flashlight on the foil so the reflection hits the set. and move the foil around a bit while animating.
