So many dead CQ extras...so little good.
I saw Avatar yesterday.
"Rated PG-13 for language, violence, and such epicness young minds cannot comprehend."
I saw it to see if it was really all that it was cracked up to be...........it was.
So good you had to post twice, eh? ![]()

I saw this movie last night, and I liked it very much. I can kinda see why people think it's nothing beyond an adrenaline rush, but if you look deeper into it you can see a lot more than just flashy special effects. Of course, who wants to go to the trouble and look too deep into something like that?

Just saw Avatar, hahahahahahhahahahahahha, most over rated movie ever.
hahhahaa
WOW!!! AVATAR WAS COMPLETELY overrated. I agree Riley.
I just saw it, and, I don't see what the hype is about. Yeah, great visual effects, acting was spot on, but, I mean, the story was unoriginal, and, personally, it didn't make sense to me.
The Hangover
I thought it was definitely funny, well-acted, well-written, and well-put together. However, my reaction to it is similar to when I first saw Superbad; I was lukewarm about it while everyone was parading it as the funniest thing ever. However, Superbad continued to grow on me the more I watched it, so I'm thinking this movie will, too.

Oh my gosh. That was so amazing. The animation was incredible. I felt the cussing was un-needed in some parts, but overall, pretty awesome movie.

Visually and audibly one of the most engrossing and captivating films I've ever seen. The story was pretty much what I expected, but at least it was presented and told reasonably well. One of the best I've seen all year, the first time that I ever wished a 160-minute film was just a little bit longer.
I saw it in 2D, but I would love to try and see a 3D version sometime soon.

I liked it. Very funny. Plus, the movie budget was only 1.2 million dollars. That is 64 million dollars less than what Johnny depp made in Pirates of the Caribean 2. Anyways, I saw the Movie Premiere( My mom went to class with the producer)
So on a scale of comedy from 1 to 20, I would say it is about a 18.

I agree with most everyone, this movie was amazing. The hype is well justified in my opinion. To get the story out of the way, yes it is cliche, bordering on silly at times. But the sheer spectacle of it absolutely outweighs and overshadows the film's weak points. I saw it in 3D and thought it was done very well. It wasn't like in other 3D movies where it comes off as gimmicky and there are shots that just scream "THIS MOVIE IS 3D!" It's much more subtle and very effective. The visuals are beautiful, they got an audible 'whoa' out of me on a few occasions. Overall, If you go into it thinking you're going to see some great, original story, then you will be disappointed. You see it for the sensory spectacle.

My first reaction to Avatar was a little over the top, I was just sourly disappointed. So many of the reviews were saying how they didn't expect it to be very good, but they're expectations had been exceeded by miles yada yada yada, and seeing as I had low expectations from the start, my approach had been changed, and I was expecting an excellent film. The visuals were great, that's all I can really say about it.
The weak and shallow story, stupid corny lines 'I have guns too, !@#$%', and the ridiculous fight scene at the end between Colonel Quaritch in the robot suit and Jake's avatar. How the hell do you knock a gun out of a robots arms, wouldn't it be nearly impossible? And the knife! was that thrown in for comic relief?
Anyway, all of the above is why I don't see it as the 'best film ever'. I'm only really being this critical because of the over the top praise it's been getting.

Don't forget that some people might call Transformers that.
I personally was most impressed with the visual effects, which were right on that fine line between animated and reality, or so I thought. However, the story kept me entertained as well, even if it wasn't the greatest ever.
