The Nightmare Before Chirstmas

What kind of a messed up movie was that?!

Okay, so I liked it a bit, but still, that was a very weird movie; even for Tim Burton, I think.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

No matter what movie Tim Burton makes it's weird in probably everyway almost, but thats what I like about his movies. Even his Allice in Wonderland is strange, yet I still can't wait to see it when it's out.

The Wrestler

Damn, this was heartbreaking, but such a good movie. Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei were outstanding, especially the former.

Capote

Another depressing and heartbreaking movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman fully immerses himself as Truman Capote, he was spectacular. You really got to know who Capote was, his personality, and his growing moral uncertainty throughout the film.

Hot Rod
Well I thought this movie would be god awful. Turns out I was wrong. It's quite hilarious, but only because it's stupid and random.

Avatar

The theater I went to isn't generally very busy, though it was packed out for midnight showings of The Dark Knight and, I'm told, New Moon.  The theater was nearly empty at the midnight showing of Avatar tonight.

Anyway I quite enjoyed it, the visuals were spectacular of course and I thought the 3D added a lot more to this film than it does most movies I've seen in 3D, without using gimmicky popping out of the screen stuff.  Nothing really stuck out to me as looking really synthetic, I think the 3D helps with that as Cameron has said but in a film with such a large quantity of computer generated imagery it is tough to keep perspective on what does and doesn't look real anyway.

The story was more or less what I was expecting from trailers, it wasn't always especially intricate or profound but I thought there were moments with emotional resonance, and more subtleties in some of the characters than I expected.  I thought the performances were generally good, the Colonel was obviously fairly tongue-in-cheek but I didn't mind this so much.  Worthington slips up on his American accent from time to time.

That I can totally believe. He's got a pretty heavy ocker in his natural accent, it must be hell for his vocal coach to keep him in line...

Terminator 2:Judgement Day

Possibly one of the best films I've ever seen. The effects blew me away, just knowing they were made in 1991, yet it looks good,if not better than a fair bit of stuff today.

Rating: OMGWtFBBQ

Terminator 3:Rise of The Machines

Compared to the others, rather meh.The action sequences were kick-ass, but the comedic elements(talk to the hand)just took something away for a while. Not too bad though. Some not too subtle references(the sheer amount of I'll be back/She'l be back/I'm back lines...ugh)
I really am nitpicking though, overall a really enjoyable film.

Brüno [Snipped]

It's strange how this movie manages to be both homophobic and gay pride at the same time.
Very funny, but only really on the word based jokes (rather than the more, shall we say, inappropriate ones).

That is the first movie I've been too, or even known of in a long time that was sold out; even the one after was sold out. My dad had bought us advanced tickets; my friend that we brought along wasn't so lucky, so he resorted to Christmas shopping. I still feel bad about that, but anyway...

I was very impressed with the CGI, and will be very surprised if this film does not win Best Visual Effects. I was most impressed with the facial expressions of the characters, which is some of the most realistic CGI work I've ever seen. The 3D worked quite well, I thought, but I really don't know if the 3D helped the CGI look more realistic; I was too focused on the whole film. I thought the story was fine, but I already knew most of what was going to happen from the trailers. Stupid trailers. However, I think that the film did live up to it's hype, and I can't wait to see how it affects future films.

I also want to add that the film does get a bit anvilicious, or, in layman's terms, it gets a bit preachy about the environment.

Quite amazing.
I Thought it would be ''omg, wozt muvie of all time''.
It was surely not.
The CGI Shot's were very impresive, The lack of Story bothered me a little.

I'm outstanded. I came to the theater not way too excited, but this was quite breathtaking. The CGI was Fan-(SOMETHINGAMAZINGGOESHERE)-tastic. The story is pretty pushing too, most of it is pretty cliche though, I pretty much knew what was going to happen in the first 30 minutes. It's pretty long too, so get comfy for an amazing movie. I really enjoyed it, and the theater was packed. Once it was over, everybody started clapping, and I mean EVERYONE. Not my favorite film of all time, but pretty much up there. If you think this movie is going to be suck when you walk in, you walk out going "other movie suck".

Go see it. NAO.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
It wasn't as good the second time.  There are too many unresolved side plots.  I guess that's what sequels are for, but there's a lot of buildup that's just left aside at the end of the movie.  Now I know who the half-blood prince is, but what now?  Why/How did he get all of that info into the book?  Is he bad?  Why does half-blood prince mean?  It's very frusterating.

Snape kills Dumbledore.

Inglorious !@#$%^&*
That was fun.  Tarantino is really good at suspense and buildup.  Very, very interesting choices of music.  Quite impressive how well the ending went.  Not in the sense of how the operation went, but who they killed in the process.  Tarantino re-wrote WWII, and succeeded.

Team America: World Police
Hilarious.  Puppets are fun.  I really like the analogy about the three kinds of people there are in the world.  Quite clever.  A terrific family film.

I think you mean, "What does Half-Blood Prince mean?" Silly LegoShark.

If you read the book, you'd know that "Half-Blood Prince" comes from the fact that Snape's dad was a Muggle, and his mother's last name was Prince.]
