I think your lighting/materials needs quite a bit of work to help it look not so CG. What software did you use?

Hmm. In that case you're stuck with that look. I'd recommend combining LDraw with a 3d app. This will allow you to get more realistic results.

I'm not really stuck with that look, I used Microsoft Picture It to adjust the lighting. It looks a little better now, but not perfect.
