Yeah. But even if Minecraft does fail on your computer (which it proboably won't) you can change the graphics, render area, etc.
I've tried a second attempt at creating a server. This time I'm using hamachi so there's no port fowarding. If you wish to join, you'd need to get hamachi. I'll still be trying other ways.

And if that doesn't work, I've seen some people do this... so try this one too: 5.115.207.220:25565
I'm going to keep my server up most of the time, but tell me if there's anything wrong i.e. you can't get on.
I'm also using bukkit, so I'm able to use the essentials plugin. I guess I like to try things out.

I've been so sucked in to Portal 2, I haven't tried the new update. 
Well, here's my thoughts on Minecraft thus far (after watching a friend play it, and joining in later):
Wow.
It's fantastic to see how one man with an ingenious, original idea can spark such a strong community with a love for an incredibly simple yet appealing game. I'm planning on buying this as soon as possible, I've created an account so I just need to pay... it's a pity the price is in Euros though, and that it doesn't have some kind of alternative currency scheme - I'd be willing to pay the conversion charges if the price was just there in front of me, full stop, no strings attached. No matter though. I'll need to be quick before it increases to 20 (hey, where's the Euro sign on the keyboard?).
When I get it, would anyone mind going on a server with me? Just so I'm not lonely. I have no idea how to set them up, unfortunately.
EDIT: Just to say I has Minecraft. Any IPs would be appreciated.

Mainly because i can't find any other interesting servers with polite people on it, could i maybe have the IP for the server your attending to.
How do you buy minecraft... I know that its a pre-purchase right now, but when will i get to play it?
