Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Yeah, I got the sequel. I played on it recently and got stuck.

Aaah enough. They are all exactly the same (except for Rock Band). Just swap out the characters and you've got a whole new game.

Ehhhhh, I think LEGO Harry Potter might have a different style of levels than the others. Sounds like it's based more on exploring the world, yet still moving the story along. Because if you think about it, there's not much action in the Harry Potter books, compared to Star Wars and Indiana Jones, so they've got to do something a little different.

And it also sounds like Indy II will be quite different from the first.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Well, the thing about LHP is more that it has no story. You explore and build random things, but I don't think there is an actual goal. It's almost like a weak L-Draw you can walk around in.
Now that I think of it though, there may have been individual challenges to complete. My memory fails me.

YES.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I just found out they're making remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver for DS.  HeartGold and SoulSilver, and it should be out this autumn in Japan, and 2010 here.  I used to love the old gold and silver games on Gameboy.  I dunno if I should try it out for the laugh mini/tongue

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Yeah. It looks pretty amazing.
I can't give a final word though because I haven't tried it yet, how well it really works.

Apparently it made Steven Spielberg go up in tears, and he'll be making Xbox 360 games with the developers' kit.

Think of all the crazy things people will do in front of Milo.

I'm...stunned, I'm just blown away. When Claire swept her hand in the water, I cried. I really did.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I'm mad that they announced Final Fantasy XIV today. I was planning my day around not getting excited over anything, especially after all the Project Natal business yesterday.

Natal to win a Noble Prize.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I'm going to remain very, very skeptical of project Natal until I see a working version, because I can't help but think basing an entire console around total bodily movement is not only a recipe for disaster marketing wise, but  also fairly implausible to implement successfully (Considering my camera can't tell a face from a wall, I don't have much faith in consumer level motion tracking). Of course, I always welcome a nice surprise.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

There are videos of actual demonstrations of Project Natal and it actually looks legit. This is either a totally revolutionary gameplay concept, or only slightly better than the Wii. But as the creepy little boy shows, it's very interactive besides motion detecting. Hopefully it won't let me down.

I feel the same way. It looks incredible and I'd love to try it out but... it might not be as awesome as they make it look atm. mini/smile

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

It is probably not as awesome as they make it appear, but it still looks awesome nonetheless.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I was reading through the archives of the Brothers-brick, and I saw that this game is due to launch. OMG, right?
