Re: Mac compared to PC

I have a PC because I prefer having a system that can run video games.
This is precisely what I mean.

I have a Mac because I like running both systems easily.

You do know that PC cant run both systems because Mac asked PC first, but then denied PC rights to use theirs.
This.

YOU'RE ALL WRONG. ALL OF YOU.
Now this, this is a good computer.

My mac is faster than my PC. They both have the same specs, and the processors are equally powered. They're both clean, don't give me 'have you tried defragging?' But my pc just runs slower. I tried upgrading to Windows 7 and it didn't help.
Its funny, people compare mac and PC spec for spec, and say 'Oh, you can't get a mac with the same amount of ram and a good processor and graphics card for the same price, Mac must be over priced.' But the operating system doesn't require as much power, and the entire platform is neater and faster. So you don't need as much power to run it at a reasonable speed.
My school's introducing laptops to all students, and my brother got one loaded with all the bells and whistles from school, and windows runs so much slower on it compared to a pc with the same specs, and VMware is absolutely useless if you're a gamer. I just can't stand the trackpad thing on the new macbooks, I don't care if it makes things aesthetically pretty nice. And the left click thing on macs has always pissed me off.
But I could probably list more things about windows that are worse.
The Mac based programs provide more variety and are easier to use. If your willing to spend the money, the programs for Macs are way better in my opinion. Also a majority of industry standard movie compositing programs are based on Macs. I use Final Cut and iStopmotion and both have done me very well. So if your willing to pay the money, it's a good investment.
i use a mac and it wires fine. i have the late 2008 edition, and it is faster. with a mac, the ram doesn't really matter cause the os is really fast. it may cost more, but for what i do, it works better. so if you have the money buy a mac. i am not saying that PCs suck, but for video editing, mac is the way to go
Windows 7 FTW!

Except run both operation systems really well, and have a very good graphics card from the start. The last one could be wrong, however; I don't keep track of the specs of Windows computers now, but my PC savvy friend seemed pretty surprised that our Mac was coming with an Nvidia GeForce 9400. I can run all my favorite games without any hassle.
However, PCs have grown on me in recent years, and now I don't really hold one computer above the other, except for the fact that Macs are shiny and it's easy to get both systems running on the same computer, and they crash less under certain circumstances. However, after reformatting my PC, it does in fact crash a lot less, and now it works as well as it did when I first got it like three or four years ago, albeit having better graphics and more RAM.
So yeah, I prefer Macs, because I've grown up with them and like how they look, but I'd be fine with a good PC as well.
Hyun²21, Macs may cost a lot, but they come with a great graphics card, and if you have a Windows Installation CD, you can install it on the Mac, then it's like two computers in one, which alone I think is worth the hefty price tag. Plus they look great.
Well not really, CapedKid had a GTX295 and a 5970 now in his PC and I have 5770. Soon to be in crossfire, baring in mind it's better than a 4870.
And now like 50,000 of these are the best.
I have an eMac, that's right an eMac. A computer we got six years ago. And I prefer that 2004 eMac over a 2010 PC. You guys are so hooked on you're windows 7 deal that you won't even try using a Mac. But the truth is, you're never gonna find a computer that is gonna make you completely happy. No matter what your computer isn't gonna please you entirely. Saying all Mac programs cost money is a big fat lie. Idon't use any mac programs that are free. Also the new iMacs and MacBooks will run any Windows software software. The Mac vs. PC war is a war of opinion, you act like it's about the better computer, but it's whichever one you think is better. You can fight but it's never gonna ammount to anything.
YOU'RE ALL WRONG. ALL OF YOU.

Compared to a 2010 PC, your eMac is a dinosaur. Your eMac only has a 1.42ghz single core processor with DDR ram while a decent 2010 PC will have a quad core processor at 2.5ghz with ddr3 ram. It just doesn't compare.
you won't even try using a Mac.
My old school used Macs. Albeit running windows. They were slow and looked odd. They were awkward. I've used a mac I prefer PCs. But that's just my opinion.

It actually supports up to 2gb unofficially.
