lets extend the deadline to March 4. If you guys want a new challenge I have some ideas...
I have a list of challenges nobody's done before (about 19 of them) if anyone wants to see them. It might help speed things along when new challenges are being decided...just my two cents. I can keep them to myself if nobody's interested 
I for one would like a new, exciting challenge; in camera mouth animation? I've seen videos such as 'Black Stormtrooper' and the mouth animation is pretty neat, as its all done in camera, instead of post.
I think this challenge would be a creative experiment for any brickfilmer, trying out different form of mouth animation.
Mouth animation could be cool, though it's not something every user can do (due to software restraints). Still, it's a very cool idea.
Here's my list of challenge ideas:
Walking through swampwater
Time lapse flower growth
Brick-built freeze ray
Moving shadows
Shapeshifting into an animal
Backpack/jetpack flight
Ridiculously oversized weapon
Helicopter head
Midas touch
Leprechaun magic
Giant in a minifig’s world
Scott Pilgrim-style guitar battle
Time loop
Phoenix rebirth
Pneumatic drill
Last Crusade-style crumble to dust
Mech walk
Unloading a lorry
Demon transformation
Feel free to steal.
'Shapeshifting into an animal' and 'mech walk' are probably the highlights for me. If it were to be one of them, it would be mech walk.
If the contest is "Demon transformation" I'm not doing it.:/
My favourites were 'brick-built freeze ray', 'helicopter head' and 'shapeshifting into an animal'.
I also like the idea of "ridiculously oversized weapon."
Phoenix rebirth, demon transformation, Last Crusader-style crumble to dust. Any of these would be awesome! 
It seem like a lot of people want a new challenge so if anyone is making an entry for the current one, please say something.
My idea though is kicking an object, I also think freeze ray would be nice or Moving shadows or Backpack/jetpack flight. 
Kicking an object is done, but if I remember the challenge may have been given the name kicking, however I am certain 100% of those entries had something kicking an object. How about a challenge such as using the force?

Guys, just because something has already been done, doesn't mean we can't do it again. A lot of people weren't around for the first challenges.
It would be better to do as many new and undone challenges now, than revisit old ones that have already been done.

The very first challenge was a lightsaber duel (inc. force stuff) but it would probably be cool.
I'm sort of on the fence on reusing old challenges. I did have an idea for a multi animation challnge made out of past challenges, but that was a bad idea. I think Slurping's right in that there are many new challenges to be done. That's sort of what I wanted to prove with my list, but I'm not saying we should do any of them; merely that if you be creative, you can always think of new things.
That said, I never got to do the first challenges, and many other users will be the same.

Please don't change the challange, I have worked really hard on my entry, and I'm almost done.
But the deadline was today...
I agree that we might as well not redo old challenges since there are infinite possible new challenges. My favorite from Jampot's ideas were "Shapeshifting into an animal" and "Backpack/jetpack flight", but most of them sound cool.
