Re: The Animation Challenge

As I understand it I'm past the deadline that Boardron alluded to earlier but I wanted to post this anyway as it's the first animation I've managed to do for awhile - and I'm excited to see the animation challenges happening again!

It's not on YouTube because it's got no sound, rig removal, title or credits because I ran out of time and didn't want to REALLY embarrass myself by posting it tomorrow. Enjoy!

Re: The Animation Challenge

You are the god of animation.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Challenge is CLOSED.

OK, here's the deal: I intended to have the deadline on midnight. I looked at the forum time, and saw that it coincided with local time.... Then I did a lttle experiment, and it turns out that forum time is dependent on the settings on your device (computer, ipad, whatever...)

Because there are no actually prizes involved, I decided to included Stan 's entry, although it was past "deadline". But then I have to include Jay's entry as well... And, boy, did HE blow you all away...
When I first saw Jay's entry, I thought: "Man, that's gotta be CGI". Then I took a closer look... Wow... Really guys, look at his entry in slowmotion or frame-by-frame...

So, the results:
1. Jay
2. Stan
3. Rafael

Jay, give us a good one!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Daaaaaaaaamn, Jay. You've just made my day awesome! Great turn-out, some really inventive entries, including yours Stan. Looking forward to the next challenge! Hopefully I may be able to take part in it too.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks everyone! Here we go:

Official Animation Challenge: Robots At Work

Animate a robot doing some kind of job - building cars on an assembly line, defusing a bomb, exploring the sea floor or plunging toilets. What the job is, how they do it and what the robot looks like are entirely up to you. Minifigs are allowed but the real challenge here is to try something different and explore other kinds of motion possible with Lego pieces.

Rules:
All entries must have at least 5 seconds of stop-motion animation (as usual, titles and credits don't count) - CGI or other digital elements are permitted but the majority of the action should be stop-mo.

Deadline:
Wednesday, April 13th, 2011 at 11:59 PM Atlantic time.

I can't wait to see what you come up with - good luck, everyone!
