What a wonderful way to start my week, with a get-together of brickfilmers!
I'll have to get up an hour early and eat brekkie first and everything, but I can be there for the first hour before going off to school .
For future reference in planning events, am I correct in saying that there's really no time that could work really well for the North America, Europe, and Australia? I suppose an hour later could alleviate it somewhat, but then it becomes really late for parts of Europe. The users are predominantly North American and European, with Australians being a distant 3rd (probably due to population more than anything) so we sort of planned accordingly.
btw, I also would note that having it on a Saturday, Sunday for Australia, might be easier, but I didn't want to cut a day of work off for people this late in the game.
Well,this is a nice idea.

6:00am is early for me I do love my sleep. I would have preferred a Sunday but it's still a great idea and I plan to drag my sorry arse out of bed early Monday morning. I'm very much looking forward to the premiere after seeing all those great trailers.

Any chance you could start the live streaming five minutes before the actual start time with a 5minute countdown video? That way people could connect to the stream a few minutes early to be sure all is working properly. I've missed the first bits of some live streams I've watched because of technical glitches, needing to reload a web-page, reset my modem, etc.

Well it's not an actual live stream, strictly speaking. The way it works is that the admin (me) has controls that make Vimeo embedded videos appear and start playing on their own, I can also make them stop and disappear when the video is over. We can make sure via the chat that nobody's have issues when we start, perhaps a short test video is in order.
On an important side note, please don't submit HD versions of your video for the premiere purposes. It would have been cool to have HD support but it's not something we'll be able to work out for this time.
I have put 1280 x 720 video on Vimeo before without any trouble is that too big?
The alternative size is 640 x 360, again widescreen.
Which do you prefer?
640 x 360 please, I am not sure what the limit is on standard def for Vimeo however. The HD issue comes from not being able to embed HD videos without a paid account.

Yeah, maybe have a little "pregame" show (or something) to keep the earlybirds occupied, and the night owls (lol) from being late.
