Submitting your trailer
To submit your trailer, send a private message to me (Sméagol) with the subject "STAR Trailer Contest, '[Film Title]'" and a working YouTube (or any other readily viewable) link between July 17 at 8:00AM GMT and July 19 8:00AM GMT. You may also post your trailer publicly in the releases forum during this time window, or any time afterward. (Use the directory's submit trailer option to do so.)
If I'm reading this right, it sounds like we may post our trailer publicly to YouTube whenever we want. The rule above just specifies the time window in which we must send Smeagol the link to our trailer via PM and when we can post a link to our trailer in the releases forum. If there is some restriction on when Trailers can be made public, Smeagol, could you clarify? Thanks.
MM, I think your trailer can only be entered if the film is entered, otherwise it is disqualified.
EDIT: Ack, post deleted.

MM, you can't make a trailer unless the film is actually being made (for STAR).
Sorry, I've clarified it now, what I meant was that you can't post your trailer publicly anywhere online until July 17 at 8:00 AM.
Can we post our trailer to YouTube as "private" before the time window and then just make it "public" during the time window? You'll be able to tell it just went public only by the puny number of views, the date will show when it posted and will make it look like it was posted early.
hey smeagol, i think i will have to do just what ancient bricks said but with a lil' twist to it, i will be gone on the due date so could i just make it private and give you my youtube password so you can make it public when the time comes? i hope this will work because i will have to get it to you tommorow if it does...

It's weeks like this that I'm so glad to have a co-producer. He's putting the trailer together while I'm focusing on finishing our film. It's been my first co-production and it has been a very valuable and learning experience. I never could've got this film done by myself in the allotted time. Thanks, PWC!
DOUBLE POST, but a 3 days later:
Why do they call them 'trailers' anyway? They come out BEFORE a movie. And in theaters they show them BEFORE the feature. Why has "trailer" stuck? [Maybe they used to show coming attractions AFTER [trailing] the feature in theaters back in the day. I could google it, but I prefer to wallow in ignorance.]
It's weeks like this that I wish I had a co-producer to stick together my footage into something resembling a trailer, while I sit in a corner panicking about the rapidly approaching deadline.
Good. Have all the footage I need! Now to make it....
Still got to film a few to complete up my trailer. It's basically finished, the editing. I'm sure I'll get it done on time though.
I'm so glad there's a time window for this.
A massive attack of hay fever is preventing me from making a trailer. (Can't do a voiceover if your sneezing!) I'll still try to do somthing, but doubt I'll get it done.
