Re: Everyone's THAC XIV production topic
This was one of the most rushed THACs I have done. Nothing but blasting through shots. You can see we were rushed on our entry........

I know I haven't been active on this thread throughout, but seeing as I finished my first THAC XIV I thought I might just share my timeline (GMT) before I fall asleep!:
12:00 - 13:30: Did some brainstorming and produced a rough storyboard (there was no dialogue so no need for a script )
13:30 - 14:45: Built the first set
14:45 - 15:15: Set up/built any characters/minor props that would be needed
15:15 - 19:30: 3/15 shots animated (had to do 4 retakes on the first shot as parts of the set kept falling apart because they were so delicate and precariously balanced)
19:30 - 20:00: Had dinner
20:00 - 03:25: 10/15 shots animated (had to do 3 retakes for the 5th shot due to the camera angle not working as it should)
03:25 - 07:45: Slept
07:45 - 10:15: 15/15 shots animated!
10:15 - 11:20: deleted 15% of the animation due to lack of mod elements, bad cinematography etc. and did all other editing except sound
11:20 - 11:50: added background music and sound effects (unfortunately I did not have enough time to add all of the effects that I wanted to, so unless a mod/admin says otherwise I'll be posting both the original I sent to nathan wells and a directors cut on my YouTube channel once I get round to uploading them.
11:50 - 11:55: sent entry to nathan wells
11:55 - 12:00: PANIC!!!! The copy I sent was in 480p so I resent the entry at 720p just a few seconds before 12:00!!
Not only was this my first THAC contest, it was the first brickfilm contest which I had ever participated in! I will definitely try to do as many of the upcoming contests as I can from now on.
Good luck to all who entered! i've seen some very good animations so far so this is definitely going to be one tough contest! I look forward to seeing more entries as they arrive
Yep! I cut down my footage yesterday, so I'll be editing it together soon.
Working on my THACumentary too.
I'll be doing both my THACumentury as soon as I get back from vacation
though i couldnt write for thac, i was inspired to write a screenplay with the thac theme ''in transition''. i had access to a computer for a short time and began writing it. i'll post here when done.
it's already complete in my head, just have to get it out!
Failed to finish my thac entry in time due to delays on my part but I got animation done an hour before leaving for college on sunday, so I will be editing it together soon.
My THACumentary is also on the webs! I took a different approach with editing and it didn't really come out as well as I had hoped, but hey, it was made in a day.
