Re: Will there be a BIM 2013?
Running a good contest isn't that hard at all in my opinion. It just takes time, effort, and dedication. The first and only contest I've ever run was quite successful, gathering 30+ entries. Sure, there were some prizes, but they weren't super great (the most expensive prize cost me like $15 I think). I think the reason why it was so successful was it's theme and time constraints. Holiday contests seem to do especially well, as many people want to make holiday themed films already.
Most of the contests here on BiM appeal to me only for the fun of the game, not for any prizes that could be won. If you have an original and interesting concept for a contest... plan it well... and then manage it well... I'm sure it'll turn out good. Just don't rush into anything and make sure to invest time into it. I'm sure I'll run Christmas in a Minute again this year so long as my studies don't take up too much of my time.
On a side note... will there be the Bricks in Motion awards for last year?
