Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Great realbrick, looking forward to seeing the iceberg! mini/wink
Love the way you even made the glass dome on it, a lot more attention to detail on that one.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I actually looked at the blueprints for this model. And yes, that is the dome over the grand staircase, glad you saw it.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Woah! Man , RealBrick it's going to hard to make a better Titanic film than you! Nice model though mini/smile

I love the new hull, the stacks seem a bit too tall though. I love it! I notice that the front funnel is in front of the bridge, wouldn't it be above, and behind it? Great work.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Well, since I can't let a flawed model go untended, I made a few adjustments.

First, I fixed the bow:

Next, out of realization that I would be bothered without, I added propellers to the back (I may add a rudder later on):

And here is the final result of version 3:

mini/jaw Fantastic. There's not much more to say to that. I'm blown away by... well, everything. Great job.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Wow, and I thought your first one was good! Your newest rendition blows the others right out of the water! It looks fantastic, the bow is very authentic!

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

It's awesome that you're really putting in the effort to make it look as close to the original as possible. I hope the other scenes have equally as impressive sets! mini/smile

No pun intended, I'm sure. mini/wink
Nice work, RealBrick. You're putting a lot of work into this and the results clearly show it.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

This is one is LOADS better! Great job!

You're not. mini/lol

I'm sure you'll come up with something, if you're really motivated to make it. A contest is not won because someone had an awesome set/prop.

Bump.
Here's a set mountain I built today.

I'm not too happy with it. Sorry about bad lighting, I took this with a single light that is in my ceiling. Does the camera quality look strange to any of you? If you look at the mountain itself, does it look a bit pixely? I see a bit of purple... and this annoys me.

man, I gotta save up for a 1080p camera mini/tongue

Ah, so that's what you were working on! I wish I had more of those mountain pieces; they're extremely useful for a quick set.
The set looks okay, it's a bit flat at the bottom in the middle. I can sort of see the purplishness, but not the pixellation.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

cool Mountain

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Mason: I would ditch the flat pieces if I were you, if you had lots of flat pieces and cheese slops it would be great but I would just go with the studded look, if you have any more grey pieces I would try to add more variation to the levels. also don't be afraid for parts on the top of the cliff to overhang the bottom of the cliff.

I've got a large bin of them, when I use them I spend a lot of time trying to hide the fact that I am using them, making organic looking cliffs can be pretty hard, the best set I've got for dealing with cliffs is the Eiffel Tower
