Regan wins. RP Hoogle gets second (for his first image).
VICTORY!!! VICTORY FOR REGAN!!!
I had to open the images in different tabs and switch back and forth between them to see what you did, Smeagol.
EDIT: RealBrick, I think you used Smeagol's apparently-unedited-but-actually-barely-noticably-edited image.

NOW IN 3D
Smeagol wins if he submits a satisfying explanation of what he changed and why. Squash get's second place and will be declared winner if Smeagol's explanation does not please me.
True art defies explanation; asking the artist to explain "what he changed and why" is no more productive than asking a tree why its branches are thusly shaped.
That said, there's obviously some thought that went into this work. The figure on the right, clearly a soldier, is a man whose life has taken a turn entirely for the less colorful; as a result, the world of the piece is drearier in its color palette, coming 5% closer to grayscale. Viewers may also notice that it is skewed, much like the man's uncertain future in a third world military operation. His vision of life is limited by his alien surroundings, as reflected by the cropping of the image.
There is so much that could be unpacked, but I prefer to allow the piece to breathe and take on a life of its own in the imagination of its viewers.
Why is he ironing at gunpoint? What thoughts are running through his mind? We just. don't. know.
Sméagol wins.
I propose Smeagol be banned from the game!
Oh well, at least I tried...
Come on guys, there is no way my slightly innovative iron board pic should have killed the game like this. IMPRESS ME.
Technically, Smeagol, it's an Iron plaque.
