I hope this is relevant, but I made a concept of what the UI of the program could look like.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/88746143@N otostream/
A few key features:
- Large live view box.
- Magnetic vertical timeline.
- Unique masking export box in the lower left corner (drag from the timeline your background image with the support, and your foreground image into the respective boxes, press export, which will set up a masking situation in your selected photo editor).
- Onion skinning toggle next to timeline.
- Key controls orbit the place where the future logo will be placed.
- Info is displayed above timeline.
- Bottom right corner holds a box with three tabs - Capture, View and Tips - each with their own respective sections once selected.
- Bar along top in my concept is typical OS X; program needs to be able to change between a Windows and a Mac layout when running on either of the two respective platforms. It's a pretty rough outline/placement of the program, feel free to nitpick apart the things you don't like, but I ultimately hope that my contribution helps the project as a whole.
Now I have not been following this topic entirely, but I can give some suggestions for the Software:
-Sync your frames to an audio track manually (like in DragonFrame) in order to match the movement of the subjects to audio (for example an mp3 voice-over).
-I Have a Canon t2i and I want live-view configuration.
-I use a mac
BTY: sorry if that this info has already been mentioned.

I might be able to help some, do you have any code yet?
Some if us has some code stored on our computer, but there is no place where others can view the code.
Java or python, I'm not sure.
So it would appear this is our best option : https://github.com/
I'll just let someone with more experience in this kind of thing set it up though.
I believe it has a chat of one form or another.
So another problem is that we have to groups basically interested in helping: python and java.
We need to decide or figure something out.
Perhaps someone knows a good way to translate between the two?
And we do need to meet up or something, maybe talk with Cybercom? He is kinda the manager.
p.s. I'm partial to python.
Sorry guys, but I don't feel that I'll have much time to work on this project anymore (a combination of school, my own brickfilming needs and such), so don't expect much contribution from me coming your way. I'll try and get the revamped UI to you soonish, but that's about it. Good luck with the code - I'll still be around to suggest things every now and then
Also I haven't been able to come up with any logo ideas...so does anyone else have any? I can also do an animated logo that play in the splash screen if we do one.
Not sure yet. Probably Motionfilmr or Brickfilmr
Sorry, but they sound terrible. I personally don't have a suggestion, but think outside of the box.
I'll be creating a skype chat so we can all talk back and forth and send files around and all that.. my skype is either Minifigurestudio or Shutterpoint
I don't have Skype; My mom won't let me.

No Skype! I know that some users can't have one (don't laugh). It took me a long time to get my own, too.
Instead, I like how github looks. But we need to think of a project name. I thought up of ReelShot Animator. (Hmm...)
Also, I need all who are in the project to email me at [email protected]. Also, any newer members who would like to join (or if beta testing is available) email me there.

Email sent. I still think we need to have an organizing meeting to discus roles and tasks.
