No REAL prizes?
This is how all youtube n00bs do contests-not buying prizes, but having subscribers as prizes-pathetic.
First of all,make better videos.
Second, get some money so that you can buy the prizes.
Third-why did you post this is in releases when we post BRICKFILMS there?
You're doing this because you want to get more subscribers.
Also,a GOOD lightsaber duel is VERY hard to make, and a tron disk war seems impossible.

You probably couldn't be less harsh, could you?

Let's stop critiquing his contest and let's let him run it how he wants to. If your not going to enter, no really reason to post. Now let this be my first and last post on this thread for I am not entering. Good luck to all participants.

Fix the rule 1 at least, it's simply pathetic.

Once again, not trying to be rude, but the reason why someone can't just post anything in the C&F forum (except admins of course) is exactly what's happening right now with your competition. Someone makes a competition with an unoriginal theme, weak prizes and pathetic rules. If you take a look around Bricks in Motion, you'll notice that one thing we hate is no creativity. Meaning we just don't enjoy Star Wars, Indiana Jones and all other brickfilms that sort. We like to make up our own storyline, characters and all other things. Not just that making a Star Wars or any kind of that brickfilm is unoriginal, but it's boring. And it's even worse when that happens to a competition. I myself would not enjoy making just a Star Wars lightsaber duel or a Tron disk war. Sorry if I sound rude, but I hope I explained myself. Although if you want to host it this way, then fine. Not my competition, this was just an advice. I better shut my mouth now. mini/tongue

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

If you guys said you would enter my contest if I removed the first rule, I might. But I don't think you would so. . .
and what is the point of saying all of this again?
I was starting to think there were some nice people on this forum when topitmunkeydog Jargon posted a reply.
But you guys just keep trolling me.
If you don't like my contest that's fine, but continuing on about it's not.

Tobias, fancypants? Have you not seen his videos?  boring? no.  I have made over half of my videos about big hit characters and what not and I enjoy putting an "original" story line into the characters. But it's fine if you don't. Just speak for your self next time. K? mini/smile

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

When you make a contest, you do it when you've been on the site for a good long time and you've earned yourself a name on the community. You also make a creativity inducing or at least original theme. You make the contest appealing and offer prizes that people will want or no prizes at all.

When people are unhappy with the contest, you ask for suggestions and make adjustments, instead of lashing out and fighting for something people can take and shoot holes through so easily. I would suggest you step out of the contest and get to know your audience first. Then you make your contest so that you know the audience will enter. Keep in mind that when you post the contest announcement on Bricksinmotion.com, people will expect the actual contest to be on Bricksinmotion.com, and not on YouTube.

When you are insulted or offended by what people say, first, look and make sure it is offensive and not criticism. Then, you can tell that individual what he did was uncalled for, you don't have an episode about how mean and unkind we are because we aren't fresh from the YouTube rat nest and glazed in unoriginal ideas.

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

Tobias, I understand what you are saying but I think it best to not make generalizations here. Things based on other things do not nescessarily have to be "unoriginal" and I have seen a lot of non-liscensed brickfilms that are possibly the most dry and boring things ever. And fancypants does star wars very well. (licensed theme much)

And there are pleeeeeenty of Star Wars based contests and brickfilms by "respectable" brickfilmers, and I see no objections by people. Maybe we should ALL be nice to one another. Don't stop believin'! Friendship is magic! love and tolerance!!!

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

RealBrick I don't see why you think I did all that. And that long reply of stuff I didn't do was "uncalled for" mini/tongue  But thanks for the advice anyways, though it wasn't to my need.
I AGREE WITH topitmunkeydog THough!! We should ALL be nice to one ANother! Don't stop believin'!

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

I agree Topit. There are some well made Star Wars brickfilms and such. But I also agree with RealBrick. And mada, you must understand that I was not trolling you. I was giving you advices. None of us were trolling you, we were just giving you usefull suggestions. I even pointed out that if you like to host this contest they way you do, go ahead. It's not my contest. I was just giving you an advice. And believe me, if you put people from YouTube against people from BiM, you would see how much nicer people from BiM are. Advices should be always appreciated.
Now let's just shup up, be nice to each other and say good luck to the entrants of this competition and mada as the hoster. mini/sunnies

Re: Lego Stop Motion Contest: Tron & Star Wars

Guys, yes it should have been posted in the Contests section, yes the prizes could be better, yes it might of been a good idea for him to wait a little longer before holding a contest, yes constructive critism is good. But we don't all have to jump on him. If you don't like the contest, don't enter. [/rant]

If I post two  mini/devil  like this: mini/devil  mini/devil then your film is one of my most favorite that I've seen of all the videos I've ever seen.
If I put one mini/devil  then your video was AWEsome.
