I just finished roughing in the walls / closet tonight and tomorrow I start the electrical.
Actually, I was animating a school project and we tried doing that with one of those computers with the big fancy screen, and it's rather hard not to get any reflections on it. I wouldn't suggest using that effect very often.
Depends on what sort of screen you use. Some are more glassy, whilst some have this different texture which isn't quite as reflective.
Stan The LEGO Man made his fourth of July film with a computer screen as the backdrop. So it's been done kinda.

With the rounded sides, it's quite easy for me to place my 'clamp on camera tripod thing' (not really a tripod... but it has the screw for the webcam and camera). Over the last few days, the true main item I've been wanting lately are some LED lamps. It may just be me (or settings) but my current lamps, which are not LED, seem to give off a yellow tint.
On a side note, what do you guys suppose is a good distance for your lamps to be from your animation studio. This may be one of the reasons why my films look a bit yellow.
EDIT: After writing this post, I thought I'd take another look at this problem of mine. Well.... it seems to have been the paper making it slightly yellow. Perhaps the paper should be changed more than... well.... since I first got the lamps.

My brother built me a desk as an early Christmas present! He also put up some things I can hang lights and the camera on. My animation studio is looking pretty good right now, I took a pic yesterday but am going to wait until my dad goes to the hardware store and gets some plastic to put on top of the desk
Oh man, there's a lot that I want.
Here's a list of what I need. 
Four lamps,
A new laptop,
A Canon EOS Rebel T3i,
Dragon,
Final Cut
Right now my setup is pretty bad. I have two lamps, one of which is half-working (it constantly flickers unless you slap it), my desk is slowly falling apart, my camera is slowly falling apart, my laptop is slowly falling apart and my editor is atrocious (it's Ulead Video Studio 11). I use Stop Motion Pro, and that's pretty much the only thing that's working.
1.Getting an actual studio instead of a tiny table to animate on.
2.LEGO.
3.Better animation software.
4.Lamp.
5.FASTER COMPUTER.There,now if i get all that,i will have better animations!

While that stuff is really good to have, your main focus should be getting better at animation itself.
ex: filmyguy, well, his lighting isn't that, well, good, but his animation is better then almost any brickfilmer!
Also my list:
Canon T3I with 50mm " Fantastic Plastic" (According to Strawburry) canon 1.8 Lense
Mac mini
Dragon Stop Motion
Better Blue Screen/Backdrop (Such as one of those flex screen they have on Tube Tape)
Final Cut Pro
Better desk would be could, instead of the weird, triangular, corner shaped one I have now

While I'm at it, I would love to add a DIY slider to the list. Would be awesome for any stop motion IMO.

I need a lot more stuff for filming. Sets and minifigures are what I need most though!

I don't know.. Never needed their support, besides any support you need they have outstanding database on their website.
At my work where i do support for Vaio notebook we only do support for Win7 so in that case you might be correct.
A large corner desk that is custom made to have built-in baseplates
Huge ass LEGO collection that is sorted into a wall of drawers
A beast of a computer that has a triple monitor system
A drawing tablet
Adobe After Effects

Lots of sunlights
No windows whatsoever. (aka a vampire's cave)
That's about everything off the top of my head.
I'd like to be able to use AE, considering I have it, but I'm good with the stuff at the moment. But I guess if I was to add anything it would probably be:
A spiny chair
Dragon
Blue Yeti mic
A bigger desk
Less flickery lamps
Although the last is next to impossible.
I want a huge corner desk.
I understand. My desk is SUPER small...and it's PURPLE!!!
