The ninth Bricks in Motion Twenty-four Hour Animation Contest (THAC NEIN) will begin on 12:00 noon (GMT) December 17, 2010. This is the second BiM THAC, the 8th for the brickfilming community.
Starting at 12 noon GMT on December 17, 2010 (Greenwich Mean Time)

I'm a bit disappointed in the prizes but I suppose that the staff were a bit late to put this together.

Anyway, like Binding Brick said, the prizes are a little disappointing though it was a bit of a last minute rush.

No, this is the correct listing of the BiM THACs.
1. THAC 6-January 2009
2. THAC 7 January 2010
3. THAC 8 December 2010

Good catch. Now fixed. (Omarnol, VN's THAC 6 was unofficial, so this is in fact the third.)

I think if the most important thing about THAC for you is the prizes, you might want to reassess your priorities. I view THAC as much more about the filmmaking process and a time for unity in the community. Perhaps I'm crazy. Plus, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Kaminoan, but he puts out some quality products that I'm sure some people would kill to get for free.
Personally, I think these prizes are pretty cool. It's a nice change of pace from the Bricklink stores we've had sponsor in previous years, and provides something that most of us don't already have.

THAC 6 wasn't organized by BiM, though it was mostly present on this site as opposed to Brickfilms.

I can't wait to enter (but if not, I'm still looking forward to the entries). I think the prizes are fine, a few decals and stuff can really help a film out.
I don't know, even $10 won't go very far at that site. 
And I liked the T-shirt idea, I don't have one yet, and they're a little pricy to buy one.
(Guess I shouldn't complain, I probably won't win anything anyway. 
)
But I can't wait, it'll be my first THAC, and I'll be setting my alarm.
I have a basic script too, if only the theme is close enough.

I can't enter either. I voted for the 17-18 but I didn't know I had something planned. 
well next year I'm voting for a week-day.
Now to lock myself into a room and wear a hazard suit to keep from getting sick, because frankly, I can't wake up at 4 in the morning when I have a cold.
I will possibly enter, just depends on getting a HTML cable delivered from Amazon for my laptop to hook up to my TV because my screen is half-working.
