IM planing on getting arkham, what do you think of it?
Lucky! I really want to get that Arkham Asylum set... but I has no moniez.
Heartlake Community Pool
I went to my local department store and saw this on sale for £16:
I also got this, at £13 down from £20:
I'm not much a Marvel/X-Men fan but at that price, I just couldn't resist.
So, all told, I got both of these for about £30, saving me £25. I love sale-shopping.
I'm considering getting that chopper.
Purple cape, and Deapool. Oh man.
Also, I wonder if that hair would go well on Redgrave from Vampire Cinema...
I acquired this set a few weeks ago:
I really liked the car, the tree, however, is just awful. I don't think I've ever seen a more miserably designed tree in a set before.
Still, tree pieces, I've been needing more of those.
I mainly got it for the wolf head. He he
The funny thing is, I'm actually considering getting that Monster Fighters set, too.
Well, if nothing else, the tree's a good source of parts, having lots of dark brown bricks and those new olive green leaves and dark green "seaweed" pieces. I prefer building my own sets anyway--it's funner and more creative--and I mostly get sets for parts these days... though I still always build them first.
Haha, yeah, I actually got the Wolverine set for all those pieces too... that purple cape, Wolverine's hair, and that awesome motorcycle. It was somewhat embarrassing to have to go to the till and pay for the sets, but that's the cost of being a TFOL, I suppose.
Hmm, I first noticed now, the picture shows the motorcycle having one of those new round 1x1 tiles for a headlight, but mine just has a standard 1x1 round plate. Odd.

Oh, sorry for the late response: The Arkham Asylum set looks really good and it's very detailed and it has got many great minifigures, BUT for that much money the set is pretty small. I just bought it because I need the minifigures for a brickfilm.
I really love all the minifigs, they're great (except for the Mandarin looks nothing like the trailer, but he still uses useful parts). The sets were pretty weak, as expected, but I really like how the Malibu Mansion looks from the sort of angle like in the trailer looking at it from a little below on the cliffs.
I totally think they were worth it.
Cool! I'm also goingto get the Extremis Sea Port Battle!
While on a swim trip I stopped at a thrift store and found Harry Potter and the Marauders Map (no instructions or box, 100% of the bricks are there) for 75 cents!
I know it's not a LEGO "set," but at a different thrift store I found two bags (about gallon ziplock size) of a mixture of LEGO and megabloks (more than 75% was LEGO) for 5.99 each. It was just a mix of random pieces so nothing really went together but I did find a few of the printed pieces to Dooku's speeder in Jedi Duel and some from Zam Wesell's speeder from Bounty Hunter Pursuit. No where near enough to even begin building the sets, but it may help if I ever bricklink the rest of it.
I also got a large cup from the Pick a Brick wall in a LEGO store, I might post pictures later of that and the thrift store stuff.
Wow, that's an awesome deal! The set usually goes for $25+.
Just curious, but would you be willing the statue minifig? I've been looking for one for awhile.
Wow, lucky! I suppose I should poke around in charity shops and flea markets for classic LEGO more often. I really, really, want to acquire some of those old 2006-2008 Batman sets without spending ridiculous amounts of money. Especially the old Two-Face, that new one is a travesty. (Really? Purple and Orange is the best you could come up with, LEGO? ) I've been looking on eBay, but to no avail. Does anyone by any chance know where I might be able to find old Batman stuff for a reasonable price?
Anyway, sorry for ranting a bit there. To stay on topic, I did manage to get one of these for £1.76 on eBay:
Really good deal! I particularly love that torso.
Yeah, I got the battlepack that came with him 5 years ago. Really nice figure.
I got the big dropper ship that had that figure back in 2007, but it's still in Ukraine (all 4 of my original LEGO sets are there). It's a wonderful figure, but I lost some of the pieces. Well, at least there's bricklink (I also hope to get the battlepacks from that year).
It was a great set, and I hope to bring it to America one day...
@Mighty Wanderer
Great, well now that everyone knows how much I got it for now anything will seem like I'd be taking advantage of you... Also, you seem to be missing a word or two there so I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. If you were wondering about selling, I'm not going to sell it. If you were asking about trading for it, maybe we could find something that I'd be interested in. Remember, I'm in Alaska so I don't know if that makes a difference for shipping or whatever. If you have anything you'd be willing to trade for it, send me a PM or forum email and we can figure it out.
@FlyingMinifig
I believe the new Two-Face is actually based off the original comics, purple-and-orange was the original color scheme of his. But I do agree, I don't like him. I have the original two face, but the old Batman villains I really want are Mr. Freeze and the Scarecrow, they were perfect minifigs. Oh, how I wish I was a little more mature and had gotten them instead of Knights Kingdom...
Check out thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, newspaper ads, or even Craigslists (you might get lucky!) whenever you can. All my best finds have been through those (well, and one thing with my friend, but that's another story...). You won't usually get the specific thing you're looking for (like Two-Face) but I have before. I'd say just keep an eye out on eBay for one cheap and hope to find one at some of the other places I mentioned in the meantime.

Heh, even stores that have a clearance sale is a lucky find, I managed to get an old sport set for £1.99!
@JonnDthunDer: Yeah, I realize that the new one is comic-based, but still, he looks downright horrible. It's one of the reasons I'm disappointed with the new Super Heroes theme. I did a complete epic fail and didn't get any old Batman sets (with the exception of one keychain ), something which I regret.
I've tried scouring eBay, and if you look hard you can get good deals, but with Batman, I find that in virtually every single case people start ridiculous massive bidding wars which causes the price to skyrocket. Right now I'm watching the 2008 Tumbler set which had a £1 start, but now it's over £100--and there's still a full week before the listing ends! Ah well, I'll find one somehow.
Oh yeah, anyway, this is what I got in the PAB cup and that other thrift store stuff...
Most of the Dark Red you see in there goes to The Battle of Metru Nui from 2005 (and a few parts from The Tower of the Toa). There's also most of the parts to the old Twin-Pod Cloud Car. Oh, how I wish the rest of Bounty Hunter Pursuit was in there...
And then there was this
And that's it. I hope you don't mind all the photos...sorry, I'm just pretty excited about some of this!
