Staff Review

Randy Yard:
Though far from flawless, Sylther's tale of a man staying at a less-than-desirable hotel is a visually rich and ultimately entertaining experience. The lighting and set design are excellent, the cinematography creative (though not always fitting), and the animation quite impressive for a sophomore film. Eye candy aside, things are more rough--the voicing and script are awkward at times, and the music selection is distracting--but it's easy enough to forgive these sins and just roll with what the director was aiming for. "Worst Eastern" isn't destined to be a classic, but if you've ever stayed a night in a bad hotel (or just heard stories from someone who has), you won't regret giving this short a try.
