I would say for your budget get Sony Vegas. I have used everyone of their products. You can try all Vegas Products for 30 days for free with full features. I would say try it out and see what you think. I use Sony Vegas Pro for my editing software. I have tried Premiere Element and it is not very good for how much is costs. Vegas will give you more bang for you buck. That is my opinion.

I've used both and they are both very good. Vegas is easier to use than elements and in Vegas it is easier to add effects. In elements you can do all this but you need a little more skill. In elements you can do really amazing titles and video effects.

I would get Elements but for a real video editor get Pro. Sony Vegas Pro isn't much different from Sony Vegas (non-pro). You can also look into getting production premium, but that is nearly 400 for the student edition.

Go for Adobe. And later you should get the After effects and Photoshop plugin. That's what I'm doing.

Hey everyone. I am interested in purchasing some video software and am wondering which one would be better?

I am thinking in the $70 range which is why the title is Vegas v.s Elements. I am thinking either Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere Elements. However, if there are any better programs in that price range that would be great!!! I don't want to spend over $100 but I want the best possible for that price (duh). what would ya'll suggest???
