That's a tough choice. It depends on a few factors: are you committed to/comfortable with this camera? Do you have the budget to purchase a webcam? Is your operating system compatible with your preferred webcam?
well, I really like my camera but I am fine with using another one for brickfilming. Mine is better for other purposes anyway. But how much does a good webcam that is compatible with mac os x cost? and what is a good one to buy?
Also, you could build a custom LEGO cradle for your camera.
I actually tried that a few days ago. It works very well but it irks me because I can't use nifty camera angles and angle the camera up and down (although I fixed the camera to one of those old Lego ferrari cars and I rolled it around the house really fast...)

would you suggest buying one of those web cam things?

If I recall correctly, that camera doesn't support tethered shooting. Every time you press the shutter button, it moves the camera ever so slightly. You wouldn't notice when looking at the still images, but put together it's quite jarring.

Try securing your camera better. You might try using sticky-tac or duct tape to hold it to your desk. Also, you could build a custom LEGO cradle for your camera.

Hello, BIM, I am very frustrated because each time I try to brickfilm it always comes out bumpy and/or flickery. Watch any of my brickfilms on my Youtube (link is in the signature) and you will see what I am talking about. It's SO FRUSTRATING!!! Someone please give suggestions!

PS- the camera I use is Canon Powershot- SD1200 ISand my tripod is kind of like this one:
Is this why I am having so much trouble?
