yep, I have actually folded a really small (like minifigure-hand sized) cranes. and some doctor made one with a 1 mm x 1mm paper. It is possible but It would take a while. If you end up making 100 really small paper cranes you should submit it to guinness world records... :)

Why not experiment with Lego Bricks so you don't have to make the cranes CGI? Or you could actually fold tiny cranes.

Since you guys thought this was potential TOY material,I've decided to make this an entry to that contest. It has now been refurbished as an update thread, instead another thread for that purpose. The first update is on the first post, where all the upcoming updates will be in. :)

Well, you could make a paper crane and try to capture about 20 different angles of it, put them in a zip file, and ask someone with After Effects to take a shot you took of him making a crane (just use the one and move the figure's hands around so the paper bends), composite the cranes out of the pictures, and scatter them around the scene after motion tracing so it looks like a few cranes scattered around.

Wow dude it's a good story yet a really tough one! It will fit TOY I'm pretty sure.

P.S. he doesn't have to make a lot of cranes by himself if he can use some proper CGI :D

Hello, everyone and this is the update thread of my Tales of Yore entry,"David and His Thousand Paper Cranes". You'll be seeing new updates
about once a week or so.

STORY:
It's 1797 in Japan, and the invention of origami is still spreading around Japan. Soon,a new book called "Hiden Renzuru no Orikata" is brought to the public. Then,in a rural Japanese town,a man who doesn't have the ability to talk, walks around the town, hopeless for a cure for his talking disability. Then,he meets a old and wise man named Yamoto, tells him that if he creates a thousand origami cranes,he would be granted a wish. Yamoto notices the talking disability, and tells the non-talking man that if he does create the origami cranes,he would revive his ability to talk...and that's where the story begins.

UPDATES:
2/11/11- I've started the script, and it should be completed in about a week or two. After that,I'll be holding a casting call,so be on the lookout for that.
