Get Vegas if you can, but there are freeware programs that you can use to compress the massive, uncompressed files WMM spits out. I think VirtualDub and MPEG Streamclip both have compression capabilities, but I'm not sure.

I've not yet managed to get a sparkling new editing software, so I'm making do with WMM. However, I can't seem to compress any videos without them losing a whole load of quality. If I publish them, they come out decent but have sizes way into the hundreds of megabytes, and if I compress them they come out pretty crappy quality. Is there a way to fix this, or am I better off just getting Sony Vegas or something similar?
