The twirly thing. Put it to "M" which stands for manual and you should be set.

On the top of the camera there is a wheel dial thingy that you turn to select the mode (auto, manual, ect.) I don't remember what the picture is for manual mode, but if the camera is on it should tell you what mode it is on the screen.]]></description>

I need some help on dragon stop motion. my camera, Canon EOS 500D, is not work on it. 

the problem is: when I have plug in the camera, press on and open up dragon stop motion, I can't see anything.
and it say's: "WARNING: live view only works when mode dial is set to a creative mod ( such as manual)."
