By the way, here's the test I did a few months ago with motion blur. The 15fps doesn't suit the action, but check out the motion blur. Pause around.
Good luck ;)

Personally, I like LEGOs not to have motion blur, at all. I think it looks better without it, it looks too gimmicky.

I'm sorry if this really isn't that good. Infact I wouldn't have uploaded it if it weren't for the HD.
Also Real Brick, I didn't use virtualdub filters at all. No, I used another layer in monkeyjam. I only used VD for converting to HD. And it was also my first test with monkeyjam too, so I'm still learning. I'll make sure it's perfect before using it in any films. ;)

I'd assume Mob just masked the elements and applied directional blur. Y'know, to create 'blur'. That's how I do it on still photos.

Filmfire, your particular case of 'blur', isn't really blur of any kind. It's a transparent offsetted animation on top of the other animation, like two frames ahead of it.

To be honest, I really couldn't care if it's not officially motion blur, or even if it isn't at all. I am still gonna use it for films, because it's so simple to do.
Also mobiledeli, I'm sorry but for some reason I can't watch vimeo stuff.
How did you do that?
If people really want to know, I may make a tutorial.

And anyway, this was more of a test for HD than anything (Which I'm SO happy with).
Thanks for all the help guys.

Sorry, but it just doesn't look like motion blur at all. Motion blur is the effect you can see on the cars at the start of this video. What you're doing is just really strong frame overlaying, which just makes it harder to watch the video. Completely different techniques.

Well, this kind of thing you either love or hate. ;)
Anyway, I won't use this loads, it's more for stuff like propellers spinning really fast- the kind of thing you can't physically take a still picture of.

I won't ever use this for any running in films anyway, it would be more for swords, guns, etc. And this was more of a test to see if this works. ;)
